Playground Coffee Shop

Deemed Brooklyn’s “anti-gentrification coffee shop,” Playground Coffee Shop is a creative play-place for local artists. Owner Zenat Begum wanted to emphasize social awareness as a cornerstone of the Playground community and opened her coffee shop in 2016. In the adjacent Annex, she sells non-academic literature, clothing, zines and other merchandise, and is constantly providing free programming. In addition to their focus on promoting a more socially conscious community, the folks at Playground Coffee Shop also knows how to make a darn good cup.

Playground also has an affiliated educational nonprofit, Playground Youth.
