Patrice Cleary moved from The Philippines to the U.S. when she was just a baby, and growing up, her favorite way to preserve her heritage was through food. Learning her culinary skills from her mother, it wasn’t long before Patrice was catering parties and events. After eight years in the Marine Corps and subsequent work at a venture capital firm, in 2015 Patrice Cleary and her husband Drew finally realized her dream of opening a restaurant. At Purple Patch, she serves the recipes she learned from her mother with the D.C. community.
