Family is at the heart of this Tacoma cafe, and it shows from the warm ambiance to its “family tree” logo. Red Elm Cafe sprouted up in the neighborhood in 2017 and launched a menu of comfort food and Portland-sourced coffee. From their waffle dog to the grilled cheese, you’ll be unsuspectingly transported back to childhood moments while enjoying the pleasures of the present. Sisters Jennifer Richardson, Adina Joslyn, and Sarah Joslyn own and run the restaurant together, and have cultivated a family-friendly space equipped with a kids’ play space!
