As movie rental stores have closed nationwide, one special movie library has persisted since it first opened back in 1988. Scarecrow Video is a nonprofit video archive that’s home to over 130,000 titles. In addition to offering low-cost rent to an extensive variety of international and domestic films to Seattle locals, Scarecrow Video actively invests in the greater Puget Sound community. The non-profit offers free film screenings, cost-free space for community events, and financial support for local arts organizations.

Fun fact: Scarecrow Video houses over 125 years of film from 129 countries!
