Truffle-making started as a hobby for Wendy Lieu. When her chocolates grew higher in demand from excited friends, family members, and Santa Rosa farmers market-goers, she and her sister, Susan, decided to go into business.
Today, the Lieus’ shop is a destination for everyone with a sweet tooth in San Francisco’s bustling SoMa district. Their sweets menu includes marshmallow and caramel-filled Bear Hugs, durian truffles, dark chocolate-covered caramels, and guava pate de fruit. (Keep an eye out for confections stamped with Sôcôla’s adorable mascot Harriet the flying alpaca!)
Even more delicious: The Lieu sisters source all their main ingredients from local businesses within 50 miles of San Francisco.
