Kathy Jack opened Sue Ellen’s in 1989. She was an open door for the LGBTQ+ community when Sue Ellen’s was the only place queer people could go to be together. Many things changed over the years, but the bar is still a safe space and it’s still serving that purpose with Kathy Jack still in charge. Sue Ellen’s hosts a multitude of day and night life events, from theme nights like Tuesday Blues Day to live bands and concerts.
