After the successful launch of their food truck and empanada stall, DC Empanadas, Chef Anna Bran-Leis and Shawn Leis knew it was time to launch a brick and mortar location. Taqueria del Barrio features authentic Mexican recipes, alongside a few surprises. The exciting interior complete with colorful murals compliments the bold flavors and fresh ingredients of their housemade salsas. No matter what fillings you choose, their empanadas and tacos reflect the tasty cultural traditions of their origins.

The cocktails at Taqueria del Barrio are also a huge hit and the Del Barrio comes highly recommended, made from Silencio Mezcal, Caramelized Pineapple and Habañero-Turmeric Syrup.
