Wife and husband duo Tora Hennessey and Tom Siegel opened The Independent Pizzeria in 2010, after Tom had taught himself how to make pizza and ultimately created a delicious dough recipe. In 2022, Tora and Tom gifted ownership to former workers Sawyer Quattrociocci and Annie Masuda, making the pizzeria entirely worker-owned and operated.
