Altaye Mekdeswork AKA “Chef Mekdes” started baking as a child with her mother and grandmother before eventually parting ways with her creative hobbies to pursue corporate finance. After years spent climbing the corporate ladder, she rediscovered baking and left her work to attend the Professional Pastry Art Program at L’Academie De Cuisine. Now, she operates her own bakery, Voila Bakery, and delights locals with her phenomenal croissants, cakes, macarons, and more!
