Established in 1975 by Woody Phillips, Woody’s Bar-B-Que is an institution with four locations across South Los Angeles. Woody’s keeps BBQ simple – the meat comes off their fire pit (brick ovens with oak wood) to steam tables, then directly out to the door to the customer. Touting themselves as the most authentic BBQ in LA, Woody’s signature smoky flavor and sauce have been well-known throughout Los Angeles and appreciated by generations of locals since 1975. Woody passed away in 2020, but his son Rodney and other family members continue on the legacy.
