At Zion Kitchen, chef Oyin Akinkugbe gives the D.C. community a taste of her family’s classic West African recipes that have been passed down for generations. Oyin’s interest in cooking stemmed from her mother who owned her own restaurant in Nigeria. She has continued to hone her cooking skills in Nigerian cuisine and opened Zion Kitchen in 2002 after her dishes received rave reviews from her friends and family. Zion Kitchen serves West African staples like spicy Jollof rice with fried plantains, savory oha soup, and their perfectly crispy and flaky meat pies.

Bonus: Zion Kitchen recently expanded and now offers more space in their dining room, bar, a cocktail lounge, and even a VIP room to host events!
