On the first day of Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2022 we want to acknowledge the resilience and determination of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) business owners.
Two years ago, confronted by pandemic-inspired racism and xenophobia impacting Chinatown neighborhoods across America, we affirmed that Asian-owned small businesses are an essential part of our cities and communities.
Last year, we pushed back against anti-Asian violence and celebrated the diversity of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities.
This year, as we continue to navigate a challenging cultural and economic landscape, we highlight Main Street businesses that reflect the variety of flavors, services, and neighborhoods where AANHPI businesses continue to create opportunity, honor heritage, and hold space.
Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month is a great opportunity to explore a diversity of cultures and #SpendLikeItMatters.
We’ve got some fun collaborations that make it easy:
1. Receipt & Receive
Upload your receipts when you #SpendLikeItMatters at any AANHPI-owned small businesses throughout the month of May for the chance to win prizes from some of your favorite Seattle sports teams! Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, OL Reign, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, and Intentionalist want to encourage the community to buy from local AANHPI-owned businesses this month and beyond.
2. Save 20% on Gift Certificates to AANHPI-owned Businesses
From May 21-31, receive a 20% discount on gift certificates to AANHPI-owned businesses via Intentionalist’s Gift Certificate Marketplace thanks to support from Seattle Storm, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, OL Reign, Seattle Sounders FC, and Seattle Seahawks.
