Throughout queer history in the United States, LGBTQ-owned businesses have served as safe spaces, gathering places for activists, and a way for Queer people to connect with their community.
After yet another year fraught with anti-LGBTQ legislation, LGBTQ business owners and community members are pushing back and proudly celebrating Queer contributions to our neighborhoods and cities.
This month we highlight Main Street small businesses with big pride.
Pride Month 2022 is a great opportunity to explore a diversity of cultures and #SpendLikeItMatters.
We’ve got some fun collaborations that make it easy:
1. Receipt & Receive
Upload your receipts when you #SpendLikeItMatters at any LGBTQ-owned small businesses throughout the month of June for the chance to win prizes from some of your favorite Seattle professional sports teams! Seattle Sounders FC, Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, OL Reign, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, and Intentionalist want to encourage the community to buy from local Queer-owned businesses this month and beyond.
2. Save 20% on Gift Certificates to LGBTQ-owned Businesses
From June 20-30, receive a 20% discount on gift certificates to LGBTQ-owned businesses via Intentionalist’s Gift Certificate Marketplace thanks to support from Seattle Storm, Seattle Mariners, Seattle Kraken, OL Reign, Seattle Sounders FC, and Seattle Seahawks.

3. BECU – Equity In Action
Starting on Friday, June 3, BECU members can enjoy free eats and treats from a variety of local LGBTQ-owned businesses. Learn more about the Equity in Action: It on Us initiative.
4. Check Out Intentionalist’s Shop
Shop at Intentionalist’s online marketplace, where you can find items and apparel that celebrate and support LGBTQ-owned small businesses.
