Anchor Bar has been a Detroit fixture since 1959, and while its since had an update (and is now sans pool table), its historic legacy still remains. The bar has stood through many historic moments, but it is reputably known as the location of a 1971 police raid that was later dismissed due to forged wiretap authorizations. Owned by Zaid Elia, Anchor Bar offers a hearty selection of bar food and signature cocktails.
Bon Bon Bon, owned by Alexandra Clark
At Bon Bon Bon, artisan dessert chefs known as “The Babes Babes Babes” are using French techniques and Detroit inspiration to make spectacular confections. From classic nonpareils to funky flavors like hot cheetos and black truffle, their small chocolates pack big flavor. This no frills dessert shop is owned by Alexandra Clark, who has been determined to innovate chocolate since age 19.

Maru Sushi, owned by Robert Song
After building extensive sushi chef and managerial experience, Robert Song left his career to make his mark in the sushi world.
