SpendLikeItMatters at woman-owned businesses as part of your Women’s History Month 2023 celebration!
To create our Women’s History Month art, we worked with Seattle-based artist and Cafe Red co-owner Haley Williams, who was inspired to showcase how frequently women business owners collaborate rather than compete.
The woman in the foreground celebrates how women nurture and grow the diversity of woman-owned businesses in our communities. Haley also included a female chef receiving a delivery from another woman-owned business, and a mother and her daughter supporting both businesses by visiting the restaurant.
“As a woman who owns a small business, Women’s History Month holds a special significance for me. It is a time to reflect on the contributions of women to society, honor those who have come before us, and celebrate the progress we have made. Women’s history is a testament to the resilience and strength of women, who have fought for equality, recognition, and the right to pursue their dreams. It reminds me that I am part of a long line of women who have worked hard to overcome obstacles and create a better world for ourselves and future generations. Women’s history also serves as a source of inspiration, motivating me to continue working hard, taking risks, and pursuing my goals as a small business owner. It reminds me that my voice and my actions matter, and that I have the power to make a difference in my community and beyond.”
We’ve teamed up with Seattle Mariners, Seattle Storm, Seattle Sounders FC, OL Reign, Seattle Seahawks, and Seattle Kraken to encourage fans and friends to explore and #SpendLikeItMatters in support of the woman-owned small businesses at the heart of our communities.
